In this video I go over a move that was taught to me many years ago and it wasn’t until last week that I revisited this when I was rolling with a guy who had a tight turtle position. Key points I want you guys to be aware of, this is an additional method that can be used when someone gives you a hard time AND you play a better side control game.
In the example of me jumping on my partner Mungia’s back and being rolled over his head does not mean you necessarily can’t do that; you have to be very aware of where you distribute your weight. If you are getting rolled over the front when someone turtles, chances are, you are too high up towards your opponents head. This makes it easy for him/her to tripod up and off you go.
Although I mentioned this in the video, I want to make sure you guys are conscious of an important detail. When you place your foot on the outside of their knee and you pull them to their side, quickly remove your foot. Leaving it will cause your opponent to land on top of it. This will slow or prevent this move to work.
Let me know what you guys think. Enjoy!
